CAL WHITWORTH

I’m Cal. I lead Advanced Solutions at REPAY.

My team builds software and works through the things around it: how people use it, what customers need, and what’s getting in the way.

Voice.

Make a payment by
talking to the system.

The team & my part

My team pitched it and led the product and build. Mark Barrow, Austen Hensel and I built it from scratch and launched it at REPAY.

Out in the world

REPAY introduced Voice
on August 6, 2026.

The work after the call

Why did a
caller transfer?

One part I’m particularly interested in is what happens after the call. We take a transcript and extract structured data: why someone transferred, for example. That gives us a way to look at patterns across calls instead of reviewing them one at a time.

Transcripts go to S3. A language model extracts the analytics. The results go into Postgres, where we can query them.

02 / Payix migrationProduct + operations / REPAY

Migrating customers
to REPAY

Configuration.
Contracts.
People.

Following REPAY’s acquisition of Payix, we built tools to automate configuration and keep track of the work. Then we worked through contracts, pricing, and customer participation.

A useful decision

Bring the partners
into the work.

One useful decision was getting loan management partners involved. We visited them, worked through incentives, and agreed on joint outreach. Customers who hadn’t responded to us began responding when their partner was involved.

George Quay and I built OFFERED to help brokers compare letters of intent and learn from the history of previous bids.

A little about me

Software, and
the work around it.

My team builds software and works through the things around it: how people use it, what customers need, and what’s getting in the way.

I lead Advanced Solutions at REPAY. I work across product and engineering, with the team and the people who use what we build.

A lot of that work uses AI. I’m interested in what we can do with information that used to be hard for software to use. Phone calls. Email threads. Contracts.
